Cheating at Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker Room
Ultimate
Bet and Absolute Poker Room (cheating) ... are owned by the same
person. And yes, ... I said the cheating happened twice.
First the
cheating was exposed at Absolute Poker and then less than a year
later, cheating was exposed at Ultimate Bet.
Odd then, ...
if that's the case that once they were aware of the cheating in Absolute Poker Room ... that they wouldn't have taken extra precautions to assure
no such worries of cheating happened at Ultimate Bet? However
that is exactly like it happened. Almost as if all the cheaters picked
up and moved over to the other poker room where things weren't quite so
hot.
And by
supporting these poker rooms after such matters ... we as online poker
players send the message that "its okay to cheat me but you must pay me
back what was stolen! ... er I mean ... if I catch you!"
Are they really expecting me to be okay with that?
Apparently the answer is yes.
Sadly that's
exactly what many players have done claiming they are showing support
... which is laughable ironic since they are showing support for whom
was likely cheating them and if not ... well they knew about it but did
nothing to warn players because of the possibility they would stop
playing.
They couldn't
have been more wrong in their entire approach to the matter from the
start when they didn't warn anybody ... all the way to its ugly end
where when they thought their players wouldn't be loyal they sold them
down the river at what early estimates say will be into the million mark
or perhaps more (there were something like 30 accounts belonging to
about 5 different people who kept changing their user names so too not
bring as much attention upon themselves but it was way too little and
way too late).
Ego was what
busted the cheaters. One of them went through an entire tournament and
only folded four times. Another won a big tourney which was like a
hundred thousand: and what happened was the cheater checked while
holding a ten high and the (innocent) player then went all-in with a
bluff holding only an eight. He was called. Note: that last one
may not have been as much ego as it was just wanting to get out of there
with the cash and opportunity knocked. Since the cheater could see his
opponent's hole cards he called right then and the game was ended.
I'd have been
furious and I bet that second place (innocent) player was every bit as
suspicious and outraged as I am for him after hearing that bitch-slap of
a story. Why people didn't question to the point of demanding to know
why anybody would call an all-in after having checked a ten high? It was
almost (exactly) like you would do if you'd been holding aces and
suckered the other side into making the mistake of betting into your
obviously better hand.
Players know
all of this yet they (some of them) have said they are staying and that
they support Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet and I believe I wouldn't be
wrong to quote one as saying, "After getting caught like they did ...
I've never felt safer playing here. Any cheating
They are
indeed. Unbelievably true as I sit and write this story but true never
the less. I guess truth is stranger than fiction because until now I
would have said that only in the fairy stories do card cheats; and
those who allow card cheats; get supported by those whom they have
cheated.
TWICE!!!
It still
remains to be seen but it is likely the cheating was done from an inside
the company position. The two companies are claiming its an ex-employee
who had already installed the code before the current owners came along
but there is strong suspicion ... or at least healthy speculation that
the poker room's creator ... is now and has always been ... the owner of
the two poker rooms. I wonder how all those players who are rushing to
support their favorite cheating poker room ... are going to react when
they find out the one whom was cheating ... was tracked back to an
account which gave the address of the home of the creator of the
software for Absolute Poker Room and Ultimate Bet.
